Dogecoin Breaks Records: 9.4 Billion DOGE Moved—What’s Next?

Billy Markus, the co-creator of the original meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin, known on social media as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, recently commented on the negative aspects of using X (formerly known as Twitter). His tweet can be interpreted as a recommendation for avoiding unwanted content on Elon Musk’s social media platform: “the more you engage with content you don’t like, the more you’ll see content you don’t like.”

Markus, an active user of X, highlighted that engaging with undesirable content increases its visibility on one’s feed. Thus, users who want to avoid such content should refrain from interacting with it. This insight offers a simple yet effective strategy for improving the user experience on X.

Monetization on X

Furthermore, Markus makes a small part of his income through the monetization feature introduced by Musk. After purchasing X for $44 billion and rebranding it as an “ultimate Everything app,” Musk enabled users to share in advertising revenues. Markus, like many others, benefits from this feature by receiving a portion of the ad revenue generated from his content.

In addition, Musk integrated a Subscription feature on X, allowing users to charge subscribers small monthly fees for exclusive content. This move provides content creators with another revenue stream, enhancing the platform’s appeal for influencers and creators seeking to monetize their presence.

Remembering Kabosu

A few days ago, Markus and many other crypto influencers bid farewell to Kabosu, the legendary meme dog and inspiration behind Dogecoin, who passed away at the age of 19. Markus commemorated Kabosu by posting a meme depicting her meeting Death and being told she “was the best.” Elon Musk also honored Kabosu, tweeting that she had ascended to heaven.

The heartfelt tributes to Kabosu underscore the lasting impact of meme culture in the cryptocurrency world.
