Shytoshi Kusama, the enigmatic leader of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community, has sparked excitement with a recent tweet about the upcoming ShibaCon. This highly anticipated blockchain conference, hosted by the Shiba Inu team, is set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will run from November 5 to November 15, aligning closely with the annual DevCon event, which will occur between November 7 and November 17.
ShibaCon to Host Prominent Blockchain Leaders
ShibaCon promises to attract key players from various sectors of the blockchain industry. Experts in decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Web3, and gaming are expected to attend. Many will serve as keynote speakers and engage in discussions on trending topics. The event will also offer ample networking opportunities, allowing developers, influencers, and content creators to connect with like-minded individuals.

The Shiba Inu community, commonly known as the SHIB Army, reacted with enthusiasm to Kusama’s announcement. Many are looking forward to the start of ShibaCon. However, some users expressed disappointment that they cannot purchase tickets using Shiba Inu’s native tokens – SHIB, BONE, or LEASH – or through the Shibarium blockchain network.
SHIB Faces Volatility Amid Market Decline
This week, SHIB, the second-largest meme cryptocurrency, faced high volatility. On Tuesday, SHIB dropped by over 12%, falling from $0.00001840 to $0.00001612. This drop coincided with a larger market decline led by Bitcoin, which fell by around 5% due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

However, SHIB has since rebounded, gaining 4.7% and trading at $0.00001688 at the time of writing. In the last 24 hours, SHIB’s burn rate saw a sharp decline, dropping by 92%.
The community only managed to burn 800,000 SHIB in a single transaction, compared to 1.5 million SHIB burned the previous day, according to Shibburn. Despite the fluctuations, SHIB holders remain optimistic about the future.
