The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem has just achieved a major milestone in its deflationary journey. Shib Torch, the community-powered automated burn portal, has successfully removed 1,003,331,701 SHIB tokens from circulation. This massive burn reflects growing engagement within the Shiba Inu community and represents a strong push toward the token’s long-term value appreciation.
The SHIB-centric update was shared by prominent Shiba Inu community figure Shibarium Updates (@shibizens), who highlighted the billion-token burn in a recent tweet.

Shib Torch Milestone Reflects Community Commitment
At the current SHIB market price of $0.00001341, the value of the 1 billion incinerated tokens equals approximately $13,334. While this burn represents only a small portion of SHIB’s 589.5 trillion total supply, it underscores the community’s active role in token deflation.
Importantly, this latest burn represents a 4.97% increase in burned tokens compared to the previous week, suggesting that the burn rate is accelerating. The surge comes just two months after Shib Torch’s reported total burn of 713.12 million SHIB, meaning the platform has destroyed an additional 290.2 million tokens since March 18, 2025.

How Shib Torch Automates SHIB Burning
Shib Torch plays a crucial role in automating the SHIB burn process using fees collected from transactions on Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain built for Shiba Inu. Each transaction on Shibarium includes a base fee and, optionally, a priority fee. While validators receive the priority fee, the base fee gets split: 70% goes toward burning SHIB, and the remaining 30% serves as a platform fee.
Before Shib Torch launched in August 2024, the team manually burned the 70% portion of the base fee by converting BONE tokens to SHIB and sending them to dead wallets. This manual process previously led to the destruction of around 56 billion SHIB.

Now, with automation in place, Shib Torch stores the 70% base fee in BONE tokens until it accumulates 1,000 BONE. At that point, any user can trigger the burn, prompting the contract to convert BONE to SHIB and send the tokens to an unspendable wallet.
Currently, the system has collected 282.79 BONE, which equals 6.65 million SHIB. Once the threshold is met, another burn will follow, continuing the effort to shrink the total supply.
Network-Wide SHIB Burns Continue to Climb
Beyond Shib Torch, the broader Shiba Inu community remains actively engaged in burning tokens. In the past 24 hours alone, SHIB holders incinerated 15.82 million tokens across four separate transactions, pushing the daily burn rate to a staggering 3,661%.

In total, the SHIB community has now burned 410.74 trillion tokens, permanently removing them from circulation. This has brought SHIB’s active circulating supply down to 589.55 trillion tokens.
