Shiba Inu has shared more information about its Karma reputation system, now live in beta on Shibarium’s testnet, Puppynet. Developer Kaal Dhairya explained that Karma operates as a gamified system. It rewards users with experience points (XP) for completing specific tasks. These Karma Points track community activity and boost a user’s reputation within the ecosystem.
The Shiba Inu team also discussed the Karma System in the 74th issue of The Shib Magazine. The update highlighted a shift from surface-level social signals like likes and follows. Instead, the system aims to reward genuine user contributions and engagement. This approach strengthens community trust and fosters transparency.
Karma works like an XP system—just like in gaming. As mentioned in the podcast, it’ll be used across our ecosystem and, combined with Reputation and Aura, will help foster trust. Keep in mind, though, that Karma scores and levels are in BETA and may still change. https://t.co/CQXBXVVIRP

Earning Karma Through Real Activity
The Karma system values more than just token holding. It now rewards active participation in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Users can earn points by taking part in decentralized finance (DeFi) activities on ShibaSwap and by transacting with ecosystem tokens such as SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT on the Shibarium blockchain. These actions include creating trading pairs, adding liquidity, staking, swapping tokens, and validating stakes. Users also gain points by initiating wallet transactions and participating in meaningful community discussions.

As users collect Karma Points, they unlock key advantages. Higher scores increase a user’s influence in governance decisions by giving them greater voting power. Users also become more visible within the community and gain access to premium features like higher proposal limits and exclusive tools.
Progressing Through Tiers in the Karma System
Karma Points also determine a user’s tier in the system. As users earn more points, they move through seven ranks, starting from the Pup level with basic voting rights. Each new level brings increased voting power and access to more proposals and drafts.

The highest rank, Dogo Master, offers x2.0 voting power, 20 proposals, and 50 drafts. While Karma is still in its beta phase, users are already testing its features. The final version may change the way points are earned or used.
