Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has been absent from social media for over a week, a noticeable change from his usual active presence. While his inactivity has raised questions, the Shiba Inu team assures the community that Kusama is following through with his previously announced plans.
Kusama’s Declining Social Media Activity
Kusama’s engagement on X has slowed significantly compared to earlier this year. His last post, which he shared on February 21, introduced enhanced liquidity pools on ShibaSwap. Since then, he has remained silent, prompting speculation about his absence.
Lucie Defends Kusama’s Offline Efforts
Lucie, a prominent Shiba Inu community member, defended Kusama’s social media break. She emphasized that his absence aligns with his commitment to expanding Shiba Inu’s global presence. Instead of engaging online, Kusama focuses on critical offline efforts, such as meetings and partnerships, that could drive the ecosystem’s growth.
As far as I know, @shytoshikusama is doing exactly what he announced he would.

The ambassador is working hard around the globe to bring awareness.
I’m sure he will have a lot to talk about once he returns to socials.
Lucie expressed confidence that Kusama would eventually return to social media with updates on his recent activities. She reassured the community that his focus remains on strengthening SHIB’s position in the crypto market.
Kusama’s Social Media Breaks Are Not Uncommon
Kusama has taken extended breaks from social media in the past. In May 2024, he stepped away for a while and later revealed that he had travelled to the Middle East to meet with relatives.
Despite his occasional absence, Kusama has established a reputation as a workaholic. While many took time off during the Yuletide season, he remained actively engaged in developing the Shiba Inu project. According to him, some weeks require him to work up to 20 hours daily, ensuring SHIB gains the utility and recognition needed to climb into the top five cryptocurrencies.
The Shiba Inu team continues reassuring the community that Kusama focuses on long-term growth. His silence online does not indicate inactivity but rather a shift in priorities toward advancing the ecosystem behind the scenes.
