Shytoshi Kusama Breaks Silence with New SHIB Update and Call to Action

After nearly three weeks of silence, Shiba Inu’s enigmatic leader Shytoshi Kusama has re-emerged with a direct message to the SHIB team and its global community. Kusama’s sudden return came via Telegram and X (formerly Twitter), where he not only delivered a call to action but also highlighted recent developments within the SHIB ecosystem.

“Let’s Go Back to It”: Kusama’s Return Sparks Community Buzz

SHIB’s marketing team member Lucie was the first to share a screenshot of Kusama’s Telegram message. In it, the SHIB lead wrote, “Next week let’s go back to it, can we?”—a statement interpreted as a clear signal that he’s ready to return to active development and community leadership.

While Kusama didn’t elaborate on his absence, the message hinted at a short break or possibly a personal retreat. Either way, the statement has reignited anticipation among SHIB holders, many of whom are eager to see what’s next for the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

Karma System Takes Center Stage on Kusama’s Podcast

In addition to his Telegram post, Kusama published a new episode of his podcast, Shy Speaks SHIB, where he and a guest discussed the Karma reputation system currently active on Puppynet, Shibarium’s testnet.

Karma acts as a reputation tracker, awarding SHIB users with scores based on their activity within the ecosystem. These activities include burning SHIB tokens, purchasing digital land in the SHIB metaverse, and providing liquidity to the network.

Kusama described the Karma system as a tool for gamified user engagement, designed to reward meaningful participation and strengthen community involvement. His co-lead developer, Kaal Dhairya, expanded on this by comparing Karma to a classic XP (experience point) system used in video games.

Karma Still in Beta and Subject to Change

Kusama also reminded the SHIB community that Karma remains in beta and is currently running only on the testnet. He advised that scores and levels are subject to updates or significant changes as developers gather feedback and refine the system.

“The Karma system is still evolving,” Kusama emphasized, urging users to continue testing and interacting with it to help shape its final form.

What’s Next for Shiba Inu?

Kusama’s unexpected return has sparked fresh excitement within the SHIB community. His statement, coupled with the continued development of innovative features like Karma, reinforces Shiba Inu’s commitment to building a robust, interactive, and decentralized ecosystem.

As SHIB prepares for another wave of updates and potential mainnet enhancements, all eyes are now on Kusama and the development team to lead the next phase of the project.
