The Dogecoin (DOGE) Foundation has provided an exciting update on the progress of its ambitious trailmap. Over the last year, the Foundation has advanced several key projects designed to strengthen the DOGE ecosystem. These initiatives include GigaWallet, LibDogecoin, and RadioDoge, all of which have seen continuous improvements.
Significant Progress on Key Steps
In a recent tweet accompanied by an informative image, the Dogecoin Foundation offered insights into the progress of the trailmap. They stated that step 1, which focuses on making development accessible and expanding the developer ecosystem, has been completed. This step aimed to grow the developer community and foster Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) projects while promoting DOGE adoption by businesses.
With 100% progress for step 1, DOGE now has multi-language bindings and an expanding ecosystem of projects that accept Dogecoin.
Lowering Barriers to Dogecoin Adoption
Step 2 of the trailmap, which is focused on lowering barriers to Dogecoin adoption for businesses and the unbanked population, is 90% complete. The GigaWallet Payment Gateway and e-commerce plugins are nearly ready to go live, making Dogecoin more accessible for commercial use. Additionally, the Dogecoin Foundation has made significant strides with RadioDoge and the Dogebox OS, both designed to bring DOGE to underserved communities. These efforts target the creation of seamless payment solutions for the 1.7 billion currently unbanked people.
Scaling Dogecoin for Global Use
The DOGE Foundation also addressed step 3 of the trailmap, which targets global scalability. They revealed that they are 10% into this phase, focusing on the “proof of Doge” protocol upgrade. This project, codenamed Sakura, aims to increase Dogecoin’s throughput by improving block speed, size, and decentralization by tenfold. The Foundation’s goal is to ensure Dogecoin meets the expectations of a global currency.
Looking Ahead
The DOGE Foundation initially released this trailmap in December 2021. The eight-part project outlines steps to secure Dogecoin’s future and increase its adoption as a viable currency. The final goal includes developing a decentralized point-of-sale application, making Dogecoin usable worldwide in everyday transactions.
In conclusion, the DOGE Foundation’s progress on its trailmap demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the DOGE ecosystem. The achievements in development, adoption, and scalability signal positive advancements for Dogecoin’s future.
