The XRP community has received a critical alert from Wietse Wind, a prominent developer in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem. Wind’s warning concerns a fraudulent token named “Xaman,” which is attempting to deceive unsuspecting users within the community. Xaman, originally developed as a noncustodial wallet for XRP Ledger, lets users engage with the ledger and interact with various third-party tools.
However, in response to misleading claims, Wind clarified on social media that Xaman has no official token and will not issue one. In a straightforward tweet, he emphasized, “There is no Xaman token, and there will never be a Xaman token. We will not participate in the issuance of meme coins.” This statement aims to prevent any confusion among users who might believe the fake token is associated with his development team.
Clarification from Xaman Wallet Founder
As the founder of Xaman Wallet (formerly Xumm), Wind reiterated that his team is not involved with any token called Xaman, despite its current trading status on the First Ledger platform. Wind stated, “We did not issue this,” warning users not to engage with the token under any circumstances. He labeled the fake “Xaman” token as a “scam meme coin” that threatens the security of the XRP community.

Scam tokens and fake projects continue to pose significant threats to the crypto community, particularly as the XRP ecosystem expands. Furthermore, Wind’s warning emphasizes the need for constant vigilance as more projects and tokens emerge within the XRP Ledger. Recently, First Ledger—a platform for trading and tracking tokens on XRPL—broke previous records for daily token issuance on XRPL, far exceeding the all-time high from 2021.
Additional Warnings from Community Leaders
XRPL dUNL validator and xrpcafe cofounder Vet has echoed Wind’s concerns, urging community members to remain cautious. He issued a statement on social media, saying, “A ton of impersonators out there. I’ll never release a meme coin. I’ll never DM you. Stay vigilant.”

Vet also highlighted the dangers of impersonation within the crypto community, which has grown more prevalent. Xaman Wallet’s official account has also warned users of impersonators who pose as Xumm Support or NFT minting support to extract sensitive information from potential victims.
These warnings underscore the importance of verifying all information through official channels. As new tokens emerge on XRP Ledger, XRPL community members must stay vigilant to avoid scam.
